Honduras, in a few lines
Honduras has two coasts that could hardly be more different: the Caribbean side around La Ceiba, with the Bay Islands offshore, and the Pacific side on the Gulf of Fonseca. In between are the capital, Tegucigalpa, high in the mountains, and San Pedro Sula, the industrial north. People call themselves catrachos, and they speak a Spanish full of vos and maje.
Hondurans mostly chat in Spanish; the Spanish version of this page is written for them. This one is for English speakers.
How a call works
You allow the camera and a stranger appears, chosen at random from whoever is online anywhere. No profile, no account, no app. If the conversation is good, stay; if not, skip.
Good first questions
- "Olimpia or Motagua?" — the football rivalry splits the country.
- "Baleada sencilla or with everything?" — everyone has an opinion.
- "Coast or capital?" — Choloma, Tegucigalpa and the islands are three different worlds.
When to call
Honduras runs on UTC-6 all year. Evenings, roughly 7:00 PM to midnight local time, are the easiest time to catch people at home.
Staying safe
